ROOT CANAL TREATMENT
ROOT CANAL TREATMENT
The most sensitive part of a tooth is called the Pulp and is located at the center of the tooth. It is made up of nerves, blood vessels and tissues. Cavities caused by unattended decays or cracks caused by trauma can pave the way for germs to reach the pulp and attack it.
When this occurs your tooth can often still be saved with root canal therapy. Root Canal Treatment is, in short, a treatment for tooth pain that involves cleaning the tooth and removing the infection which is causing the pain. The cleaned tooth is then protected from further infection by treating them with a solution and inserting fillings.
Some indications for Root Canal Treatment are:
- Severe sensitivity to hot and cold food and sweets
- Spontaneous throbbing pain while biting
- Pain stays for a long time
- Pain that worsens when you lie down
- Tooth pain that radiates to the head and ears
- Swelling around the tooth
- Severe decay or an injury that creates an abscess (infection) in the root region
- Fractured teeth
If you have any of the above listed symptoms, it would be advisable to visit Dr. Loomba’s Family Dental Clinic for the best possible treatment.
